After his first feature length film, The Blossoming Of Maximo Oliveros, shown here last year, Auraeaus Solito pursues his original and enchanting cinéma. Set in an aboriginal community in the Philippines, the young Daisy, daughter of the circumciser, will soon discover a passionate love story with her best friend. They become complicit with the only uncut boy in the village, rejected by all because he refuses to prove his virility. By questioning traditions and the connection between the frozen male/female roles and relationships, Solito succeeds in giving us a surprising masterpiece made of rarely seen before images of utter beauty.
