Synopsis

Nour (Ayoub Gretaa) and his gang are street vendors selling goods that have fallen off the back of a lorry. Every night, they drink, smoke and dance, dreaming of finding a ‘Mr or Mrs Visa’ with whom they can regularize their lives. Imperfect, magnified by the film's unfailing empathy for them, they have the beauty and occasional cowardice of characters who do what they can. When Nour meets Serge (Grégoire Colin) and Noémie (Anna Mouglalis), his life is turned upside down. From being a gang film, the film becomes the story of a trio who spend endless nights in Marseille's underworld clubs, between whores and transvestites. La Mer au loin takes to the sea with the freedom of its characters...
In this, his second film, inspired by the experiences of a number of immigrants in his circle, Said Hamish Benlarbi, who is closer to the novel than to obsessive realism, films partying, love and the passage of time, leaving us with a magnificent novel of exile!
