Ana, divorced mother, combines her job as security agent in the Reine Sofia Museum and bringing up her child. When her child questions his gender identity, Ana begins an inner journey which takes her back to the woman she was before becoming a mother. La Mitad de Ana is seen more through the eyes of the mother, of the adult than of the child. It is Ana who becomes, asserts herself, mirroring her son's identity, in transition but also in transaction with who she is. It's this which justifies the beautiful English title: Becoming Ana
