Synopsis
Every month, the artists of Soirées Habibi perform at cinema-themed drag shows at La Flèche d’Or, a community-run, activist performance venue. Artistic cabaret coexists there with community outreach activities (pay-what-you-can cafeteria, outreach patrols, legal aid clinic). From group rehearsals to public performances, *Habibi, Chanson pour mes ami.e.s* offers an intimate look at the making of a show and profiles five drag artists and a community-oriented venue. It’s an opportunity to explore how one group’s social activism fuels another’s approach to performing on stage—all the way to the grand finale: a socially conscious, festive, and welcoming drag show.
