Ahmad, a trans* man and Iranian expat, arrived in the United States at the beginning of the AIDS crisis. Now in his 60s, he visits Chicago's LGBTQ archives to explore his latent homosexuality and dream about his life as a gay transgender man. His research is a mix of fact and fiction, with fantastic scenes recreating the gay bathhouses of the 1970s and 1980s from the perspective of transmasculinity. During his research, a friendship develops between him and Kieran, a young non-binary archivist with a passion for queer culture. Directed by a regular at our festival, this fascinating documentary combines eyewitness accounts, archives and narrative fiction to explore the complicated and often unwritten history of transmasculine homosexuality.
