JJ tells of Ami and Popo's journey to New York during the spring of 2022. As they retrace the life of Jill Johnston (1929-2010), the two lesbian researchers meet people who knew Jill in one or more of her ventures as a dance critic, a radical lesbian, an activist, a writer, a performer, etc. Jill Johnston seems to have lived a thousand lives, and each provides access to lesbian legacies, offers a perspective on the role of lesbians in art, and tells of bodies in activist spaces.
