After her father's sudden death, Azra is forced to leave Canada and her girlfriend for her childhood home in Pakistan, where she is faced with her conservative mother, who has her own plans for her daughter's future. Via flashbacks, the viewer travels between past and present, and gradually discovers by way of dance, music and fantasy, that Azra and her mother have much more in common than they may think.
This feature debut interweaves different generations and shows the age-old struggle between conventions and personal ambitions.
