Viêt and Nam work - and occasionally make love - in the coal mines when they are not roaming the surrounding forests, accompanied by Nam's mother and an experienced neighbour, in search of the remains of Nam's father who disappeared during the war. Nam, who has no passport, has arranged with a smuggler to leave one day. Minh Quy Truong, from whom we previously saw the short films Les Attendants and Porcupine, brings out the emotion of sensual, minimalist scenes while exploring the traumas left by the Vietnam War in a second feature full of seriousness and originality.
