The winners write history, but what about those who were never allowed to compete? A collective of queer athletes has set out to pay tribute to those excluded from the podium. Together, they create a radical utopia, far away from the rigid gender rules of competitive sport. Using archive footage from the Olympics, interviews with queer athletes and proven historical facts, this stunning tribute is paid to those on the margins: queer, trans and intersex athletes. At a time when controversy is far from over (see the cries of outrage from the right-wing around the world regarding Algerian boxer Imène Khalif's participation in the Paris Olympics), this film is truly enlightening and salutary.
