Dolares de Arena ( Sand Dollars)

On a beach in the Dominican Republic, the young Noelí and her companion (pretending to be her brother) seek to engage in paid, not always transitory, relations with tourists. Anne (magnificently portrayed by Géraldine Chaplin), who plans to leave Paris and come end her days in the sun, starts to nourish feelings for Noelí who, on the other hand, would like to leave the island for Europe. This free adaptation of a novel by Jean-Noël Pancrazi questions a contradictory fantasy, the inevitable parallels between two lives that Anne, between romanticism and exoticism, would like to intertwine in a lasting fashion.
