Synopsis
José Maria, a 17-year-old who is very sensitive, can’t seem to find his place and is violently rejected because of his lack of masculinity. Little by little, she asserts herself as a woman. This delightful film, a precursor to Pedro Almodóvar’s thematic universe, stars the sublime duo of Victoria Abril and Bibi Andersen. It condemns ignorance and intolerance toward transgender people, though some of the dialogue may seem outdated.
