Gugu is 12 and dreams of becoming a footballer. He also loves to wear make-up, and lives under the wing of his loving and open-minded grandmother Dilma. The two share a quiet but powerful bond which protects them from the disapproval of Gugu's father and the community around them. But then changes begin to shake their daily life: Dilma is losing her mind, while Gugu, determined to keep their world intact, begins to worry about losing the only safe space he’s ever known. This tender intergenerational comedy was screened at the Berlinale, where it won several prizes.
