Synopsis

Peroxide blonde hair, an aggressive face, this is Link, a rebellious teenager living with his violent uncle in a trailer park in Nova Scotia. Discovering that his Aboriginal biological mother is still alive, he flees and takes his half-brother with him. His path crosses that of Pasmay, a charismatic Mi'kmaq dancer, who accompanies him on his quest. A magnetic attraction develops between the two young people, a budding love and an unexpected sharing of culture and traditions. Bretten Hannam brilliantly plays with the themes of descent and the search for self, the sensibilities of her community and the Niizh Manidoow identity. The result is an inspired and spirited road movie, driven by the carnal performances of Phillip Lewitski and Joshua Odjick.
