Pillion follows with burning intensity the dynamics between Colin, a shy young man, and Ray, the charismatic leader of a biker gang, clad head to toe in leather. Colin, inexperienced and curious, is immediately captivated by Ray's dominance and confident attitude. He soon willingly allows himself to be swept away into a world of surrender: sleeping on the carpet at the foot of the bed, running errands, doing the housework – and always being available as a devoted object of desire. Ray shaves his head, puts a chain with a lock around Colin's neck and keeps any form of tenderness at bay.
Pillion is an irresistible, existential fable about our desire for happiness, the mysteries of love and the inexorable influence of normative expectations on our intimate lives – a film in which drama and comedy collide, merge and elevate each other.
