Adi, a teenager who has returned to his childhood home for the holidays, is beaten up one night by two other adolescents who caught him making out with a boy. Adi's father's quest for justice and the police commissioner's investigation fall silent when the reason for the attack is revealed. An outburst of homophobia follows, verbal, psychological and physical violence from everyone: mother and father, cop and priest, old and young, and so on.
A familial and sociological chronicle of local rural homophobia, impervious to the social progress of a country ruled by an implacable patriarchy. Selected in competition at Cannes and winner of the 2024 Queer Palm, this film, whilst sweltering in the summer heat, gradually unfolds its terrifying darkness, immersing us in the folly, wickedness and violence of a teenager's entourage, totally lacking allies.
