Cass (They, them) is both a nanny and a waiter in a constantly changing San Francisco. They live a precarious and lonely life until one evening they meet a colleague, Kalli, who asks them to babysit her daughter, Ari. But as the days go by with no news from Kalli, Cass and Ari form an increasingly intense bond, sharing the feeling of being rejected—Cass because of their gender identity and Ari because she is forced to be mature before her time. An atypical, modest, and sometimes lyrical film about the difficulty of talking about, and expressing our emotions.
