João Cândido Zacharias was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1981 and has a BA in Film from Universidade Federal Fluminense. He created and directed two documentary projects for TV, Peça Piloto (2009) and Música.doc (2012). He is as screenwriter, having worked with directors such as Christiane Jatahy (Other Times), Joana Mariani (A batida perfeita), João Wainer (4 x 4) and the duo Mariano Cohn & Gastón Duprat (La mujer de al lado). His short film Sandra Calling won the Felix Award for best short at the Rio Int’l Film Festival. He is currently developing his first feature, the horror film The Inheritance.
